Great Bend waltzed into their contest on Thursday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Newton Railroaders. That's two games straight that the Panthers have won by exactly ten runs.

DeShawnna Bryant and Katherine Mazouch did most of the damage at the plate: Bryant went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and two RBI, while Mazouch went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three doubles gave Bryant a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kya Behr, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Great Bend kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in nine consecutive matches.

Great Bend pushed their record up to 20-3 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Newton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

As of now, neither Great Bend nor the Railroaders have any future games scheduled.
