After a string of 16 wins, Morrill's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wauneta-Palisade Broncos. While the Lions didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Broncos 25-18 in the first set.
Morrill started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-17.
Katelyn Walker paced Morrill's offense, picking up 18 kills. Walker got some help from Makayla Dykes and her 26 assists. Walker also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Mersaydez Carrizales, each putting up two.
