Volleyball Recap: Tuesday's Loss Ends Morrill's Winning Streak + How To Watch

After a string of 16 wins, Morrill's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 3-1 to the Wauneta-Palisade Broncos. While the Lions didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Broncos 25-18 in the first set.

Morrill started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-17.

Katelyn Walker paced Morrill's offense, picking up 18 kills. Walker got some help from Makayla Dykes and her 26 assists. Walker also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Mersaydez Carrizales, each putting up two.

Morrill's loss dropped their record down to 24-4. As for Wauneta-Palisade, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-11 record this season.

Morrill has already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Cross County on the 1st. As for Wauneta-Palisade, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Overton on the 1st.
