Basketball Game Preview: Doddridge County Bulldogs vs. Robert C. Byrd Eagles

The Doddridge County Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Robert C. Byrd Eagles at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Doddridge County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.8 points per game this season.

Doddridge County saw some tournament action on Monday. They took a 56-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Logan.

Despite the defeat, Doddridge County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Aleigh Cheeseman went 8 of 14 en route to 24 points and three steals. Those 24 points gave Cheeseman a new career-high. Kimberly Adams was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, Robert C. Byrd hadn't done well against Fairmont Senior recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Robert C. Byrd managed a 47-41 victory over Fairmont Senior.

Robert C. Byrd picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 4-16. As for Doddridge County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record this season.
