Baseball Recap: Centreville Academy Comes Up Short

Centreville Academy and Amite School Center pushed the score to 18-5 the last time they played Amite School Center, but on Tuesday defenses reigned supreme. The Tigers fell just short of the Rebels by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Tigers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Centreville Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Dawson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Centreville Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Amite School Center, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Centreville Academy will face off against Wilkinson County Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season. As for Amite School Center, they will take on Columbia at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
