Baseball Recap: Trezevant Starts Season with Win Against Oakhaven

Trezevant took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. They blew past the Oakhaven Hawks 11-2.

Jaden Ivey made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single hit and allowed only two earned runs while striking out nine over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in hits (zero). He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Devin Parker, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and four RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Carmelo Kearney was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Four bases. while going 1-for-1.

Trezevant always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .591. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .591 or higher in four consecutive games dating back to last season.

Coming up, Trezevant will face off against Memphis Business Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. This will be Trezevant's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. Oakhaven will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Southwind at 5:00 p.m. on March 18th.
