Walden Grove beats Catalina Foothills for their sixth straight win

The Walden Grove Red Wolves had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They strolled past Catalina Foothills with points to spare, taking the game 49-34. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.

Walden Grove's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carlos Montoya jr, who rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 67 receiving yards. Robert Cash iii also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Macen Perez-Brewer, who picked up 106 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Jacob Ford was another key contributor, throwing for 151 yards and two touchdowns.

Even if they lost, Catalina Foothills' defensive line still kept up the pressure with five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Sean Brown and Jack Cartwright who racked up four sacks between them.

Walden Grove's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Catalina Foothills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Walden Grove will take on Mica Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mica Mountain will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Catalina Foothills, they will head out on the road to face off against Pueblo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pueblo is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
