Baseball Recap: New Canaan Extends Winning Streak to Three

New Canaan waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the McMahon Senators by a score of 4-1. The Rams have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Senators, too.

Tristan MacAllister spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alex Etergino, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Petey Zwick also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

New Canaan's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-9. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for McMahon, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-8 record.
