Softball Recap: Highland Tech Drops Highest Score of Season Against Shelby

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Highland Tech). Everything went their way against the Shelby Golden Lions on Friday as Highland Tech made off with a 25-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won five contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Prudence Hammond was a standout: she scored five runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5. Meredith Bolick was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Highland Tech was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .634. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in five consecutive matchups.

Highland Tech's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Shelby, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Highland Tech wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 16-15 win against Pinnacle Classical Academy on the 25th. As for Shelby, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 26-10 defeat against East Gaston on the 25th.
