Softball Recap: West Mifflin Titans vs. Laurel Highlands Mustangs

West Mifflin proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by nine) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Laurel Highlands Mustangs 3-2. This was payback for the Titans, who suffered a 4-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

RYLIE DOBNAK spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, West Mifflin's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was SAMANTHA TOMKO, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.
