Basketball Recap: Smyer Takes a Loss

Smyer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 59-33 to the Seagraves Eagles. The Bobcats lost against the Eagles in their previous head to head back in February of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 58-55 score last time.

Smyer's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Seagraves, they moved to 2-9 with that win, which also ended their nine-game losing streak.

Smyer and Seagraves could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Smyer (ranked 1323rd) will meet Ropes (ranked 447th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Seagraves (ranked 1300th) will meet Plains (ranked 327th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
