Softball Recap: Marist Sets Scoring Season-High Against Benet Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Marist). They blew past the Benet Academy Redwings 20-6 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the RedHawks, who have now won 22 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Marist pushed their record up to 27-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Benet Academy, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-15.

Looking ahead, Marist will face off against Crown Point at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The RedHawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season. As for Benet Academy, they will be playing at home against Providence Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
