Basketball Recap: Ashley Takes a Loss

Ashley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat. They took a 45-28 bruising from the Carson City-Crystal Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-35 back in January.

Cole Smith was the offensive standout of the matchup as he dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rebounds. Jordan Winslow was another key player, putting up eight points.

Ashley's loss dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Carson City-Crystal, their victory bumped their record up to 3-16.

Coming up, Ashley will be playing in front of their home fans against Lansing Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Carson City-Crystal, they will venture away from home to challenge Merrill at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
