Softball Recap: Essex Continues Road Dominance on Wednesday

13 must be Essex's lucky number: they beat Lancaster with that score not once but twice on Wednesday. The Trojans beat the Red Devils by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 13-12. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Red Devils recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Essex's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-9-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Lancaster, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Essex will head out to challenge Westmoreland at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lancaster, they will venture away from home to square off against Hopewell at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
