Basketball Game Preview: Sterling Jets vs. Meridian Mustangs

The Sterling Jets are taking a road trip to take on the Meridian Mustangs on Tuesday. Sterling is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Sterling is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Diller-Odell on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Jets lost 45-25 to the Griffin. The Jets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-12.

Despite the defeat, Sterling had strong showings from Owen Uher, who posted 12 points, and Kade Horstman, who had nine points.

Meanwhile, Meridian had to suffer through a 67-30 loss at the hands of Cross County.

Sterling's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Meridian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Sterling was able to grind out a solid win over Meridian in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 52-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jets since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
