Basketball Game Preview: Washington Blue Lions vs. Fairfield Union Falcons

The Washington Blue Lions will face off against the Fairfield Union Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Washington is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Last Saturday, Washington came up short against Oakwood and fell 55-44.

Washington's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Noah Haithcock, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 14 points and four steals, and Roman Chijevsky, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 13 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Chijevsky a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeston Everhart, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fairfield Union). They walked away with a 68-58 win over Sheridan on Saturday.

Fairfield Union's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Washington, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Washington came up short against Fairfield Union when the teams last played back in January of 2022, falling 53-47. Can Washington avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
