Recap: Mardela Warriors vs. Wicomico Indians
The Mardela Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Wicomico, falling 60-9. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mardela in their matchups with Wicomico: they've now lost eight in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wicomico to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sariah Sanon, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. That's the first time this season that Sanon scored 15 or more points. Se'Lah Foreman was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with nine steals and five rebounds.
Mardela's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Wicomico, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 14-1.
Mardela will take on Colonel Richardson at TBD on Monday. Wicomico on the road again on Wednesday and play against Crisfield at 5:00 p.m. on January 31st.
