Softball Game Preview: Blake Yellow Jackets vs. Robinson Knights

Blake is 0-10 against Robinson since March of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. Blake will be playing in front of their home fans against Robinson at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Blake made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Middleton, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Blake never let Middleton get on the board and left with a 15-0 win two weeks ago. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Yellow Jackets.

C Hobbs made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hobbs was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Blake let J Williams and J Lue run wild. Williams scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Lue scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. That stolen base marked the first that Williams snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of K Pena, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Robinson, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They blew past Leto 18-2 on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Knights as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Isabella 'Bella' Villanti and Dalia 'Mae' Campbell did most of the damage at the plate: Villanti scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Campbell scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave Campbell a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maddy Satin, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Robinson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .769. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Blake's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Robinson, their victory bumped their record up to 3-7.
