Baseball Recap: Coral Gables Takes a Loss

Coral Gables suffered their biggest loss since April 9, 2024 on Thursday. They came up short against the Columbus Explorers, falling 14-1. The Cavaliers haven't had much luck with the Explorers recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Brian Santana was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. Timothy Negron also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Coral Gables now has a losing record of 1-2-1. As for Columbus, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.

Coming up, Coral Gables will square off against Mater Lakes Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Columbus, they will face off against Southwest at 6:00 p.m. on February 27th.
