Baseball Recap: Harbor Light Christian Beats Wolverine for Their Tenth Straight Victory

Harbor Light Christian came tearing into Thursday's game with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Wolverine Wildcats get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. That's two games straight that the Swordsmen have won by exactly 16 runs.

Daniel Urman was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had over his last four matchups. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Atticus Cadarette, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Vaughn Henagan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one RBI.

Harbor Light Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .731. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .647 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Harbor Light Christian's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Wolverine, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Harbor Light Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
