Softball Recap: Wiregrass Ranch Wins Going Away Against Zephyrhills

Wiregrass Ranch was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Zephyrhills on Tuesday. The Wiregrass Ranch Bulls put the hurt on the Zephyrhills Bulldogs with a sharp 17-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulls, who have now won three games by 15 runs or more so far this season.

Kylie Glatfelter made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Chloe Troupe was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Estevez, who scored two runs while going 4-for-4.

Wiregrass Ranch always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .523. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Zephyrhills only posted an OBP of .346.

Wiregrass Ranch's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Zephyrhills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wiregrass Ranch will venture away from home to challenge River Ridge at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. River Ridge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season. As for Zephyrhills, they will head out to take on Hudson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Zephyrhills has given up an average of 7.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
