Soccer Game Preview: Elgin vs. Pflugerville

Elgin and Pflugerville are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2021, but likely not for long. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Elgin duke it out with the Pflugerville at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Elgin has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with three straight losses, while Pflugerville will come in with three straight wins.

Elgin managed to keep up with Georgetown until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Elgin lost 3-0 to Georgetown. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Eagles are ranked 32nd).

Meanwhile, Pflugerville kept a clean sheet against East View on Friday. They put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 5-0 victory. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by three goals or more this season.

Pflugerville's win bumped their record up to 8-3-2. As for Elgin, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3-2.

Elgin skirted past Pflugerville 3-2 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Does Elgin have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pflugerville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
