Baseball Recap: Spring Mills Comes Up Short

Spring Mills has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.8 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They came up short against the Clarke County Eagles, falling 13-3. The Cardinals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 14-4.

Spring Mills saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylan Swartz, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Spring Mills' defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Clarke County, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3.

Looking ahead, Spring Mills will face off against Fort Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clarke County, they will challenge Stonewall Jackson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles are facing the Generals at the right time seeing as the Generals are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
