Basketball Recap: Mark Twain Comes Up Short

Mark Twain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 91-36 loss at the hands of the Van-Far Indians. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 56-21.

Van-Far's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Pacey Reading led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten boards. What's more, Reading also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gaven Gaston, who went 7 of 8 en route to 15 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds.

Mark Twain's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Van-Far, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-8.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Tigers challenge the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Van-Far, they will face off against Wellsville-Middletown at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
