Basketball Game Preview: Red Oak Hawks vs. Highland Park Scots

The Red Oak Hawks will square off against the Highland Park Scots on Thursday. Red Oak is coming into the game hot, having won their last 14 games.

Red Oak is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 43-40 victory over Heritage. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while the Coyotes are ranked 248th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Red Oak found their leader in sophomore Kierstyn Totten, who posted 18 points. Journee Hodges was another key player, putting up eight points.

Meanwhile, Highland Park entered their tilt with Chaparral on Monday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Bobcats with a sharp 60-37 win.

Highland Park's victory bumped their record up to 24-12. As for Red Oak, their win bumped their record up to 23-11.

Red Oak didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Highland Park when the teams last played back in February of 2021, but they still walked away with a 54-48 victory.
