Softball Game Preview: Alliance Aviators vs. Salem Quakers

The Alliance Aviators will head out on the road to challenge the Salem Quakers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Wednesday, Alliance came up short against Howland and fell 5-1. The Aviators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Alliance saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubrey Lunsford, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Salem might've scored the first runs on Tuesday, but it was West Branch who claimed the real prize. The Quakers took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The Quakers have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Channing Toy made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played.

Alliance's record is now 5-11. As for Salem, their record now sits at 6-9-1.

Alliance couldn't quite finish off Salem in their previous meeting two weeks ago and fell 4-2. Can the Aviators avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
