Baseball Recap: Prattville Takes a Loss

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Prattville's offense. They fell 5-0 to the Hartselle Tigers on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Lions' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Prattville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Alexander, who went 2-for-3 with one double. Sergio Barros also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Prattville's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Hartselle, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Prattville will square off against Vestavia Hills at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Vestavia Hills' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Prattville's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hartselle, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Hartselle Tigers duke it out with Smiths Station Panthers at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
