Volleyball Recap: Woodrow Wilson Has No Trouble Against Rosary Academy

Woodrow Wilson had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Rosary Academy on Tuesday. The Bruins were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Royals.

While Woodrow Wilson won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-22, 25-14.

Rosary Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aurora Ortuno, who had nine assists and seven digs. Another player making a difference was Savannah Mostero, who had nine digs and three assists.

Woodrow Wilson now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Rosary Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-2.

Coming up, Woodrow Wilson will welcome El Dorado at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Golden Hawks will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Bruins surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rosary Academy, they will challenge Kennedy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
