Softball Recap: Apopka Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Apopka entered their tilt with Ocoee on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Knights. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-0 back in March.

The team relied heavily on Ava Gonzalez, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Alicia Lopez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Apopka's win bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Ocoee, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.

Coming up, Apopka will square off against Lake Buena Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Vipers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.18 runs per game on average), something the Blue Darters will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Ocoee, they will challenge St. Cloud at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
