Softball Recap: Calhoun Has No Trouble Against Alton

Calhoun won the last time they faced Alton and things went their way on Wednesday too. Calhoun was the clear victor by a 14-1 margin over Alton. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Audrey Gilman made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Layla Longnecker was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Lacy Pohlman was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Calhoun always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alton only posted an OBP of .250.

Calhoun now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Alton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Coming up, Calhoun will head out to square off against Barry Western at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Alton, they will host Jersey at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
