Basketball Recap: Bishop Ward Comes Up Short

Bishop Ward lost against Pleasant Ridge back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Bishop Ward Cyclones were dealt a 47-20 loss at the hands of the Pleasant Ridge Rams. The Cyclones' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Isabela Major was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds for Pleasant Ridge. Major is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Maggie Lance, who posted 12 points and four steals.

Bishop Ward's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Pleasant Ridge, with the victory, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-8.

Bishop Ward has already played their next match (against Kansas City Christian School), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Pleasant Ridge will challenge Atchison-Maur Hill-Mount Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Atchison-Maur Hill-Mount Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Pleasant Ridge surely won't give up without a fight.
