Baseball Recap: Horizon Honors Wins Going Away Against Camp Verde

Horizon Honors won the last time they faced Camp Verde and things went their way on Friday too. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Cowboys. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

Horizon Honors got a great performance from Mason Palmer as he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. Palmer has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Horizon Honors saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aidan Andrews, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits Andrews has posted since back in March of 2024. AJ Miller also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Horizon Honors always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .542. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Camp Verde only posted an OBP of .367.

Horizon Honors is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Camp Verde, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

Horizon Honors has already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against ALA - Anthem South on the 14th. As for Camp Verde, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 14-3 loss against Phoenix Christian on the 14th.
