Basketball Recap: Craig Comes Up Short

Craig was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 78-52 to the Metlakatla Chiefs. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Chiefs are ranked 17th).

Craig's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Metlakatla, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Craig will welcome Haines at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Haines has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Metlakatla, they will be taking part in a tournament against Unalaska at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
