Soccer Game Preview: Manning vs. Georgetown

The Manning Monarchs are taking a road trip to challenge the Georgetown Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Manning has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 7.

Manning fell victim to Atlantic Collegiate Academy and their airtight defense on Friday. They lost 10-0 to the Armada. While losing is never fun, Manning can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while Atlantic Collegiate Academy are ranked 85th).

Meanwhile, while the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Georgetown who was credited with the win on Friday. The Bulldogs got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Andrews' three.

Georgetown now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Manning, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.

Manning suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Georgetown when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Monarchs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
