Softball Recap: Rumson-Fair Haven Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Rumson-Fair Haven's offense. They lost 11-0 to the Lacey Township Lions on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Rumson-Fair Haven has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Lacey Township, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rumson-Fair Haven will host Long Branch at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Green Wave have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.17 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lacey Township, they will be playing at home against Manalapan at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
