Basketball Recap: Monday's Defeat Ends Miami Valley Christian Academy's Winning Streak

After flying high against Cincinnati Christian last Saturday, Miami Valley Christian Academy came back down to earth. The Miami Valley Christian Academy Lions came up short against the Mariemont Warriors on Monday, falling 53-30. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Lions have suffered since February 17, 2024.

Miami Valley Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lucy Rosen, who posted 12 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Rosen is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ellie Meade, who scored five points and five boards.

With the loss, Miami Valley Christian Academy broke their nine-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-3. As for Mariemont, they pushed their record up to 15-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Miami Valley Christian Academy has already played their next game, a 44-28 defeat against Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy on the 22nd. As for Mariemont, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 48-16 victory against Finneytown on the 22nd.
