Volleyball Recap: Raton Picks Up Ninth Consecutive Win

Raton waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They blew past the Pecos Panthers 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on October 9th.

Raton was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-10, 25-17.

Jennifer Mattorano paced Raton's offense, picking up eight kills. Mattorano got some help from Addison Medina and her 20 assists. Medina was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Raton's win bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Pecos, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-12.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Raton is set to challenge their familiar foe Estancia at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Pecos will face off against rival Tucumcari at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
