Softball Recap: Salem Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Salem can now relate to. They lost 12-2 to the Stringer Red Devils on Thursday. The Wildcats were red-hot at the plate heading into the matchup (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Red Devils' pitcher proved too tough.

Salem saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jojo Stovall, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

The loss snapped Salem's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 17-12 record. As for Stringer, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3-2 record this season.

While Salem had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
