Soccer Game Preview: Fairland vs. McClain

The Fairland Dragons will head out on the road to take on the McClain Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fairland will aim to continue their five-game streak of scoring more goals each matchup than the last.

Fairland is coming into the contest fresh off a high-scoring shootout with Waverly that saw the pair combine for 17 shots on goal. The Dragons blew past the Tigers 9-1 on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for Fairland, who have now won ten matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Bailey Russell and Molly Dunlap scored all nine of Fairland's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 52 goals.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, McClain's good fortune finally ran out two weeks ago. They fell 2-0 to Fairfield.

Fairland pushed their record up to 11-4-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four matchups. As for McClain, their loss dropped their record down to 13-2-2.

Fairland suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to McClain in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
