Baseball Recap: Pinewood Takes a Loss

Pinewood came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Crystal Springs Uplands Gryphons, falling 10-1. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Gryphons recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Pinewood saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zaiden Saberi, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run. Another was Jamie Burton, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Pinewood's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Crystal Springs Uplands, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pinewood will square off against Summit Tahoma at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Crystal Springs Uplands, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Westmoor at 4:00 p.m. The Rams have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed seven runs per game on average), something the Gryphons will no doubt try to take advantage of.
