Baseball Recap: Village Tech Starts Season with Loss at Home

Village Tech unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Whitewright Tigers on Tuesday, falling 16-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Viper Squid in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost three in a row.

Village Tech saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nicolas Soto, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Whitewright now has a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Village Tech will be taking part in a tournament against Van Alstyne at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Whitewright, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers face off against the Panthers at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday.
