Basketball Recap: Pequot Lakes Takes a Loss

Pequot Lakes suffered their closest loss since December 1, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of the Pierz Pioneers by a score of 65-63. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Patriots came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while the Pioneers are ranked 255th).

Pequot Lakes' defeat dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Pierz, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season.

Coming up, Pequot Lakes will take on Foley at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Foley has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 192 points over their last three games. As for Pierz, they will square off against Albany at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
