Basketball Recap: Kirbyville Takes a Loss

Kirbyville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss. They were outmatched by the Anahuac Panthers and fell 80-35. The Wildcats lost against the Panthers in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 84-69 score last time.

Kirbyville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-21. As for Anahuac, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Wildcats take on the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Anahuac, they are taking a road trip to face off against East Chambers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Anahuac has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
