Football Recap: Annapolis Area Christian Comes Up Short at Home Against Our Lady of Mount Carmel

Annapolis Area Christian unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 28-17 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cougars on Saturday. The Eagles lost against the Cougars in their previous head to head back in August of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 34-0 score last time.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Chace Rohal and Ma'Qyo Hughes. Rohal rushed for 123 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries while Hughes rushed for 15 yards and a pair of scores. That's the most rushing yards Hughes has posted since back in September of 2024.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Annapolis Area Christian is headed away from home for the first time to take on Benjamin Franklin on Friday. As for Our Lady of Mount Carmel, they will head out to challenge Bishop Ireton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
