Basketball Recap: Spain Park's Losing Streak Snapped at Seven Games

Spain Park came into Thursday's matchup having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They secured a 62-58 W over the Oak Mountain Eagles on Thursday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Jaguars' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Eagles are ranked sixth).

Spain Park's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7. As for Oak Mountain, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 12-1.

Spain Park won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Homewood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Homewood's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests. As for Oak Mountain, they and Gardendale will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
