Volleyball Recap: Windsor Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Southington

Windsor faced Southington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Warriors lost 3-0 to the Blue Knights. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-11, 25-19.

Nathan Le paced Windsor's offense, picking up eight kills. Le got some help from Maximilian Esquiagola Ayala and his 15 assists. Esquiagola Ayala also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Jaxon Yang, racking up two apiece.

This is the second loss in a row for Windsor and nudges their season record down to 5-2. As for Southington, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-4.

Windsor has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Maloney on the 28th. As for Southington, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against New Britain on the 28th.
