Volleyball Recap: Lockport Porters vs. Homewood-Flossmoor Vikings
Lockport was the 2-1 winner over Homewood-Flossmoor when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Porters fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The Porters have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lockport started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-14, 27-25.
Adam Gieser paced Lockport's offense, picking up 15 kills. Gieser got some help from Ryan Dziadkowiec and his 17 assists. Gieser was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.
Lockport's loss dropped their record down to 14-18. As for Homewood-Flossmoor, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 25-8.
Looking ahead, Lockport will be taking part in a tournament against Lyons at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Homewood-Flossmoor, they will take on Lincoln-Way West at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
