Volleyball Recap: Emily Rogers' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bridgewater-Raynham over Durfee

After flying high against Fontbonne Academy on Friday, Bridgewater-Raynham came back down to earth. The Trojans came up short against the Durfee Hilltoppers on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hilltoppers earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The final score came out to 26-24, 27-25, 25-3.

Bridgewater-Raynham's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emily Rogers, who had 12 digs and four aces. Rogers has been hot, having posted 12 or more digs the last five times she's played. Olivia Bonomi was another key player, getting five digs and two aces.

Bridgewater-Raynham has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Durfee, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-10.

Bridgewater-Raynham has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Dartmouth on the 8th. As for Durfee, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Somerset Berkley Regional on the 9th.
