It was a good run, but Oaks Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Westlake Warriors by a score of 7-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 4-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Ryan Sheffer was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Luke Puls also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Oaks Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Westlake, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

While Oaks Christian had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
