Placer has won eight straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Twelve Bridges has won eight straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Hillmen will welcome the Raging Rhinos at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Placer 12.8, Twelve Bridges 10.1) so any points scored will be well earned.
On Tuesday, Placer didn't have too much breathing room in their game against River Valley, but they still walked away with a 12-6 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Hillmen's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 179th, while the Falcons are ranked 622nd).
Meanwhile, after only 13 points in their last contest, Twelve Bridges made sure to put some points up on the board against Yuba City on Tuesday. The Raging Rhinos breezed past the Honkers to the tune of 40-7. Considering the Raging Rhinos have won seven matchups by more than 24 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Twelve Bridges' win came from a few key players Placer will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Andee Truitt, who rushed for 83 yards and one touchdown, and also caught one score. Those 83 rushing yards gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lily Tetz, who threw for 70 yards and three TDs.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Twelve Bridges, racking up 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Lexi Bright, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
One reason for the win was Twelve Bridges' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Leading the way was Yesenia Placencia with three.
Placer's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Twelve Bridges, their win bumped their record up to 11-5.
Placer took their victory against Twelve Bridges in their previous matchup back in September by a conclusive 20-0 score. Will the Hillmen repeat their success, or do the Raging Rhinos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
